Rainfall (ft) X Roof Size (sqft) X 7.48 (gal./ sqft) X Runoff Coeficient = Size of Cistern (Gal.)

Ex.  Rainfall .25 ft X 2500 sqft X 7.48 X .80 (Runoff Coefficient of an asphalt roof) = 3740 Gallons

A tank of 3740 gallons would be required to capture the runoff from this storm.
