“I started Landshapes with the idea that I would use my education to pay my bills, but as my career and business developed, so did my objectives. My passion has evolved into enticing people into using their outdoor spaces. I do this by creating a seamless transition between homes and gardens.
Its my belief that we need to preserve our natural environment. I blend my goals and my beliefs through a careful design philosophy. I attempt to design spaces that my clients will be drawn into. In these unique spaces I design to my clients content, but outside of these spaces I attempt to use the least amount of water possible while creating an aesthetic my client appreciates.
Many of my latest projects follow a similar pattern. The front yard uses near to no water. The plant palette consists of cacti, agaves, and native trees and shrubs. The backyard is a desert oasis consisting of a patio, ramada, palm trees, citrus, and aromatic shrub species. Often I try to incorporate a water or fire feature to further entertain the senses.
I enjoy returning to my projects months after they are completed. I feel I’ve achieved my objective when I can see the space is well used. Burnt candles, a pile of well read books or a collection of children’s toys are my signs of a job well done.”
